Taylor Swift’s concert movie is already a hit
The Future. Taylor Swift’s concert film kickoff in over 100 countries is set to be the biggest of its kind and may be one of the biggest releases ever during the month of October. The lucrative project is already inspiring other major artists to follow suit… but it may be hard-pressed to find even a handful that can command the attention that TSwift can. Just like The Eras Tour itself, it may be a once-in-a-generation event.

On the eve of its big-screen rollout, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is already taking Swift’s fandom all the way to the bank.
The movie has sold over $100 million in advanced ticket sales worldwide (the most ever), with its total opening weekend box office to hit an eye-watering $200 million — crushing the record for a concert film.
Per Entelligence, 4,200 showtimes out of the 13,000 showtimes opening day are already “sold out” (passing 75% capacity).
Since Swift bypassed the major studios and struck a deal directly with AMC, she’ll make 57% of all ticket sales — a significant windfall.
And with a streaming deal yet to be inked, Swift is looking at another huge revenue opportunity.
Every major studio was reportedly in talks with Swift’s team to release the concert movie and was pretty annoyed when she decided to cut them out. But they had no intention of competing with her for audiences, opting to move every major release off the weekend (The Exorcist: Believer went a week early, giving up its coveted Friday the 13th release date).
And with the movie only playing Thursdays through Sundays (including a surprise early release today) over the next month, Swift is ensuring the screenings will be just as packed and energetic as her tour stops — the main reason she made the film in the first place.

Gen Z is changing the culture of networking
The Future. Gen Z’s style of professional networking is more casual, relational, and global than previous generations, focusing on skill sets rather than job positions. That’s helping young workers build networks quickly and with little pressure… and, by design, it may actually help more workers find the job position of their dreams.
Small talk updates
Gen Z is remaking networking for the digital age.
Young workers are focused more on peer-to-peer networking than peer-to-mentor networking, opting to make “internet friends” who can grow professionally alongside them.
Professional networking follows the same rules as social networking — a mix of informal engagement with posts and content creation and sliding into those DMs.
Networking is now borderless and not bound by time zones, thanks to the rise of digital communication and global social platforms.
But one of the biggest changes is Gen Z is networking constantly, as opposed to just in between jobs or when someone is looking to make a job move. It’s a daily practice.
That’s backed up by LinkedIn data, with the company’s director of corporate communications, Suzi Owens, sharing with Fast Company that Gen Z grows their networks 28.7% faster than millennials and 54.7% faster than Gen X.
In other words, the generation is really good at managing messages.

NASA catches some asteroids
The Future. NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft has landed back on Earth filled with asteroid samples that contain the two most important elements for planet and life formation — carbon and water. It’s not alien life, but it’s a massive discovery that could set off a new wave of research and exploration among the stars. And thanks to a bevy of privatized space companies, it may also spark something of a deep-space treasure hunt.
Space invaders
It’s official: we got some very cool space rocks.
The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft returned rock and particle samples from the asteroid Bennu that contained carbon (the primary building block of life) and water (in the form of hydrated clay minerals).
That’s exactly what NASA hoped it would find in the potentially 4.5-billion-year-old asteroid, which is why it was chosen for research.
The particles will be studied for decades, with data inputted into a database that other space organizations can access.
Some samples are also heading to some undisclosed museums, so we, the non-cosmonauts, will soon be able to get a close look.
According to NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, “The OSIRIS-REx sample is the biggest carbon-rich asteroid sample ever delivered to Earth and will help scientists investigate the origins of life on our own planet for generations to come.”
Far out.
