People secretly work multiple jobs with ChatGPT

The Future. While remote work led some enterprising people to work two jobs simultaneously… ChatGPT has employees multiplying themselves and working three to four positions. It’s the tech-enabled apex of hustle culture. If enough people learn how to leverage AI to work multiple occupations simultaneously, having a single job may, strangely, be a thing of the past.

  • These people use ChatGPT and other AI tools to work multiple jobs, automating their work as much as possible so they can focus on either brainstorming concepts or tweaking AI outputs.

  • That’s turning work that would take a week or two into something that can be done in a few hours — like creating reports or presentations and writing emails or other memos.

  • And to avoid paying attention in Zoom meetings, they even tell ChatGPT to create summaries of the discussions that can be reviewed later.

One of these multiple-job holders told Vice, “ChatGPT does like 80 percent of my job.” That’s insane, but many workers report that the motivation to use AI was because they no longer believe that working hard will lead to more pay. Only more work will lead to more pay.

They just hope that their employers don’t wise up to how they can use AI to either get more work out of employees… or require fewer people to run their operations.

Smart classrooms may boost literacy

The Future. A school in Brooklyn has created a reading-centric classroom outfitted with two sensors and a wall-mounted tablet that is designed to track how students are engaging with reading materials and generally within the classroom. With teachers able to get data streams in real-time, they may be able to change classroom dynamics from day to day to better cater to the needs of their class.

  • The Academy for College Preparation & Career Exploration in Brooklyn debuted a “Literacy Lounge” for middle and high school students.

  • It’s optimized for reading (a library, comfy seating, word games), but the main innovation is sensors that “can track how often students speak, the quality of their conversations and the words they use, as well as how many different students speak during a class.”

  • Built by Kurani, the sensors can’t pinpoint specific speakers, only the number of voices it picks up (important privacy protection, clearly).

The collected data gives teachers a trove of information to tweak their teaching, how they coax student engagement, and even classroom dynamics.

Or as Kurani founder Danish Kurani notes: “It’s like a fitness tracker for your classroom.”

The Future. Webflow’s new AI tool wants to make designing a website almost as effortless as hiring a web designer by allowing users to change nearly anything in the website via a text prompt. For professional designers, the tool could seriously reduce the time it takes to build sites and allow them to take on a bigger client base.

  • Change the aesthetic of the site to look like a direct design inspiration (like a retro 90s aesthetic or a modern minimalist design)

  • Build new sections of the site that match the chosen design

  • Write entire blog posts from a few bullet points

  • Change the language of the site for international users

  • Eventually, it’ll be able to change features to be more optimized for SEO

The features are still in alpha testing, and final pricing when it rolls out is still in discussion.

But stocked with $330 million in funding, Webflow will likely make a splash in the market when it makes the software available.
