Anthropic Partners With The Atlassian Williams F1 Team

With Anthropic now joining forces with Atlassian Williams, it seems both big tech firms with AI ambitions and ambitious AI startups are partnering with F1 teams to supercharge their technology and operations.
The Fast Lane: There’s nothing quite as buzzy these days as a deal with a major sports league, team, or star, with the money exchanged for rights or NIL deals reaching unprecedented heights. F1 is one of the most technologically advanced sports there is, making it especially ripe for AI disruption.
Behind The Wheel: Are you an AI company now if you don’t have an F1 partnership?
Anthropic has become the “official thinking partner” of the Atlassian Williams team, which will see Claude support race strategy, car development, and new product builds.
Google has a long-running partnership with McLaren’s team and announced last November that it would start embedding Gemini into the team’s operations.
IBM inked a deal with Ferrari’s team to redesign its app and provide fans with a new digital experience powered by Watson.
Microsoft is collaborating with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team to bring AI into race analysis and performance analytics, both at the factory and the track.
Perplexity took a different approach by striking an NIL deal with arguably the sport’s most famous driver, Lewis Hamilton.
Last Lap: By bringing GPUs to the grid, these companies hope to accelerate AI adoption worldwide, with Claude, Gemini, and other chatbots becoming visible everywhere from Monaco to Mexico. And with F1 a sport defined by technological precision, innovation, and speed, these companies gain a high-stakes stage to showcase what their systems are capable of. All eyes will be on whether any one of them can help push a team to victory.
Next Race: It’s possible that each F1 car could one day have its own driver-specific chatbot, measuring and communicating what’s happening to the vehicle in real time — a Jarvis for race cars.
