Assistants vs Agents Launches Lloyd

Meme-account-turned-media-startup Assistants vs Agents (AvA) is rolling out a platform designed to help assistants, coordinators, and other entry-level entertainment workers optimize their jobs.
The Big Picture: Hollywood assistants have always had a tough job (we here at TFP have first-hand experience), and the roles have only become harder as budgets get crunched and assistants now have to support multiple execs. A lot of that is a systems issue as much as a workload one, so anything that can modernize processes and save time could become a must-use tool.
Behind The Cubicles: AvA founder Warner Bailey, WMG vet Ryan McCaffrey, and UTA vet Vince Morales have created a platform designed to give entry-level entertainment workers a leg up.
The new platform is called “Lloyd,” which has to be named after Ari Gold’s loyal assistant in Entourage.
Lloyd combines several disparate functions — scheduling, deal tracking, avails, etc. — into one easy-to-use “intelligent workspace,” according to THR.
That will allow assistants to no longer act as what McCaffrey calls the “switchboard stuck between the disparate systems.”
Lloyd is reportedly already embedded in “some of the most respected agencies, labels, and media companies in the global entertainment industry,” according to Morales.
Last Call: AvA has quickly evolved into one of the most influential brands in young Hollywood, thanks to Bailey’s expansion into newsletters, live shows, and IRL events. He says Lloyd’s ultimate goal is to free up enough time for entry-level workers to focus on the things that really matter — mentorship, critical thought, and creative support that can lead to meaningful career growth.
At the very least, things may get done a bit faster in Hollywood. That would be a welcome change for the notoriously slow-moving industry.
The Future: Prepare for the most ambitious assistants to rise through the ranks by using Lloyd to all but automate the logistical demands of the job. There’s nothing more valuable than time.
