Nike Sells Out On Costco Shelves

An unexpected pair of Nike sneakers quietly dropped at Costcos nationwide… and is already lighting up the internet and resale markets.

Why It Hits: Nike’s partnership with Costco never seemed like it was actually going to happen. Then, over the weekend, limited-edition pairs of Costco-branded SB Dunk Lows started popping up at the wholesale retailer and quickly got sneakerheads excited… proving that the next era of sneaker collecting may be all about unexpected partnerships and under-the-radar drops.

Behind The Box: Nike’s new sneakers are both out of the box and big box.

  • The $135 SB Dunks were spotted by various sneaker influencers, including RaffyCollects, DNA Show, and Jacques Slade.

  • They’re decked out in Costco Easter eggs, including the Kirkland Signature logo on the heel, a shopping label tongue tag, an ad for Costco’s popular hot dog on the underside of the insole, and a removable tag that looks like the Executive Membership card.

  • So far, it’s only available at stores in New York, Oregon, California, and Washington… but more could be out in the wild.

Final Receipt: While the sneakers are naturally only available at Costco, they’re already popping up on resale sites like StockX, eBay, and GOAT for up to $5,000. It’s a testament to the kind of loyalty — not the kind you pay for — Costco has built, with people seemingly willing to splurge to show off their devotion to something fresher than a Costco rotisserie chicken. It also reinforces that grocery stores are the coolest places in town now, whether it’s buying a tote at Trader Joe’s or a hat from Erewhon.

It’s style that reps what’s in your fridge.

Next Membership: We wouldn’t be surprised if grocery-branded clothing and accessories start unlocking special discounts for wearers. Nike sneakers as a Costco loyalty card would be pretty awesome.
