Here’s a midweek pick-me-up, Future Party. Researchers from the University of Oxford successfully connected two quantum processors that were then able to transmit the same information through “particle entanglement.” In other words, a really crude version of teleportation… kind of… it’s complicated. The discovery is a long ways off from going full Star Trek, but it’s a start!

Kim Kardashian Is Crowned Nike Royalty

Nike and Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS are partnering on a new brand called… you guessed it… NikeSKIMS.

Why It Hits: Despite competing with Adidas to be considered the top athletic apparel and footwear brand in the world, Nike has been looking for a cultural and financial turnaround after slumping sales. Meanwhile, SKIMS is one of the biggest success stories in the fashion industry, with dreams of getting into the athletic space. By partnering up, both brands get what they want.

Behind the Collab: NikeSKIMS is making a big move to join the ranks of Nike-owned brands like Air Jordan and Converse.

  • NikeSKIMS, which will debut this spring and launch globally in 2026, will include a “lifestyle-leaning womenswear line” of apparel, footwear, and accessories, per Highsnobiety.

  • The ultimate goal is to develop “body-fitting activewear for women,” according to Bloomberg — a clear play for the athleisure industry, which is a $400 billion market.

Final Purchase: Nike has started to make a concerted effort to enter the women’s apparel market, even putting WNBA’s Caitlin Clark, sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, and gymnast Jordan Chiles at the center of its Super Bowl ad. And SKIMS is already making waves in sports, becoming the official underwear partner of the NBA (yes, men’s basketball!). It turns out that Nike is also the official uniform and apparel provider of the league.

If the partnership is a win for both brands, it wouldn’t be surprising if Nike acquired SKIMS, as it did (briefly) with RTFKT when virtual fashion was trending.

Kai Cenat Wants To Take You To “Streaming University”

Online classes // Illustration by Kait Cunniff with DALL-E

Kai Cenat said he plans on launching a “streaming university” to teach creators (with followings of all sizes) the lessons he learned in becoming one of the biggest influencers in the world.

The Big Picture: There are plenty of masterclasses, camps, and even actual college courses on how to become a successful digital creator… but there’s never been an actual university takeover by one of the biggest names in the industry.

Behind the Scenes: Well, this is sure to go viral.

  • Cenat said on a February 13th stream that he’s going to rent out a university for a weekend to host several influencer courses, with him acting as the principal.

  • He plans to bring in several top influencers to teach courses, such as MrBeast teaching finance and Mark Rober teaching science.

  • Anyone will be able to apply, but not everyone will be admitted for in-person classes (a university can’t hold millions of people, after all). Still, they can always apply for the following semester (assuming this will happen more than once).

  • But it also sounds like anyone can stream the classes during the weekend… so there are some details to clear up.

The Future: Many US universities are currently under dire financial straits, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for a smaller, private university to take Cenat — who was #24 on Forbes’ list of top-earning creators last year — up on his offer for a significant cut of the tuition. And if the weekend is livestreamed on Cenat’s channel, expect it to break more than a few Twitch records.
