Happy Tuesday, Future Party. Worlds collided over the weekend when Meryl Streep (in character as The Devil Wears Prada’s Miranda Priestly) met with the inspiration behind her iconic performance, former lead Vogue editor Anna Wintour, at the Dolce & Gabbana show during Milan Fashion Week. Streep was there filming the sequel to the hit 2006 movie, and while we doubt she stayed in character during the entire interaction with Wintour, we can’t help but chuckle at the thought of them giving each other a silent, raised eyebrow behind a pair of sunglasses indoors.

Hollywood Talent Rejects AI Actress Tilly Norwood
Xicoia, a new AI talent studio, sent shockwaves through Hollywood with the announcement of a fully AI-generated actress, Tilly Norwood, who’s reportedly close to signing with a major agency.
The Big Picture: In case it bears repeating, the Hollywood actors’ and writers’ guilds just wrapped a massive strike to ensure AI couldn’t replace them. So while Xicoia says only studios and agencies are showing interest in Tilly, the backlash proves tensions remain high.
Behind The Scenes: Particle6 founder and CEO Eline Van Der Velden revealed the growing popularity of Tilly during the Zurich Summit last weekend.
Xicoia aims to create “AI talent for use in everything from film and TV productions to podcasts, TikTok, YouTube, brand campaigns, and video games — as well as interactions with fans,” per Deadline.
The studio will handle creation, technical management, and monetization for a roster of digital stars.
Its first creation is Tilly Norwood, which operates “on a hybrid model of human creative oversight and autonomous AI responsiveness.”
All of Xicoia’s stars will come with backstories, distinct voices, narrative arcs, and the ability to hold unscripted conversations with fans — tailored to the tone of whatever platform they’re on.
Final Render: Van Der Velden recently said he “wants Tilly to be the next Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman,” adding in a LinkedIn post that audiences only “care about the story — not whether the star has a pulse.”
The remarks sparked outrage among real actors. Emily Blunt, Toni Collette, and Melissa Barrera all criticized the idea, while Mara Wilson raised concerns about training data pulled from “hundreds of living young women.”
Coming Soon: If agencies were considering signing Tilly, the backlash may scare them off — especially after OpenAI announced its video generator, Sora, would be trained on copyrighted material. One thing is clear: Hollywood’s battle over AI talent has officially begun.

OpenAI Turns Conversations Into Conversions
OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT users can now purchase items directly from merchants within the chat.
Why It Hits: The ecommerce wars are in full swing as agentic AI becomes an increasingly popular way to find, compare, and purchase products. That usually meant navigating to a brand’s website to complete the transaction — but keeping it within an AI chat, especially on ChatGPT, which has 700 million weekly users, could reshape online shopping.
Between The Purchases: OpenAI’s “Instant Checkout” is a shot across the bow at Walmart and Amazon.
Domestic sellers on Etsy and select Shopify merchants are already set up to complete transactions using the tool.
Merchants pay a small fee on each completed purchase to offer their products on ChatGPT.
ChatGPT then sends the customer-payment information to the merchant via Stripe, so they can bank the data and “maintain control over their customer relationships.”
Final Receipt: Additionally, OpenAI is rolling out a tool called Agentic Commerce Protocol, which “allows merchants to make their products shoppable inside ChatGPT,” according to The WSJ. The goal appears to be straightforward: instead of Googling for a product, just ask ChatGPT. And with OpenAI claiming that more than one in 10 ChatGPT users “have some intent or interest in making a purchase,” a lot of cash could soon start flowing through the chatbot.
Prediction: The ChatGPT-native coupons, sales, and deals are almost upon us, generating a new type of sales associate.
