Happy Friday, Future Party people. After a week dominated by AI headlines and market swings, here's a little palate cleanser to carry you into the weekend. A corgi named Dapang (aka "little fatty") recently went viral for reportedly leading a pack of stray dogs back home after wandering nearly 10 miles from their small village in China. As you can imagine, the internet is absolutely losing it.

We can't help but think there's a Hollywood exec somewhere asking who owns the rights.

Turning Memories Into A Game

Gamify your memories

Will Wright, the creator of SimCity and The Sims, has been on an 11-year mission to gamify memories with his next project, Proxi: Yesterday’s You Tomorrow.

The Big Picture: In the game, players would be able to create a sim, or proxy, of themselves using their own memories. But after pouring millions of dollars into the title since 2015, Wright is no closer to a final product.

Behind the Scenes: In a recent profile with Vulture, Wright opens up about his obsession with memory and his ambition to leave behind a digital proxy of himself for his son.

  • Teaming up with video game designers and scientists, Wright began digging into how memory actually works and how it could be made playable.

  • The idea: describe a memory and watch it materialize onscreen. Depending on where you place certain memories, the game would award points based on conceptual links.

  • Over time, those interconnected memories form a human avatar: your proxy.

  • In 2024, Wright ran out of funding, but with advances in AI, he hopes Proxi can become a reality soon.

Final Level: Wright hopes the project could expand beyond just his game. The final plan is for memories and proxies to be imported into other games — or even genealogy websites — allowing you not only to play any game as your proxy, but also for future generations to interact with it. That said, Wright’s son, Parker, expresses a valid concern: “With the rise of corporations collecting data and whatnot, this sort of thing feels iffy. It gathers a bunch of data from you and then uses that to create a character with all your personal features.”

The Future: Parker may not be wrong. If we start turning our memories into playable data, it’s not hard to imagine brands wanting access, too. The next wave of personalization won’t just pull from what we click… it could pull from what we remember.

Wake Up To Spring With Matcha

If you’re reading TFP, you’re probably someone with a full, busy day. So, keeping your energy up — without the typical caffeine crash — can make a real difference.

Pique was founded to find that balance. The company crafts teas, botanicals, and minerals rooted in Eastern traditions, connecting you with the natural world. Their blends are made with high-quality ingredients for people who want to feel and perform at their best.

As the spring days stretch longer, Pique recommends Sun Goddess Matcha — a clean, ceremonial-grade matcha that keeps you focused and alert without the jitters of coffee.

  • With tea leaves sourced from Kagoshima — a lush, remote region at the southernmost tip of Japan — the matcha is smooth, balanced, and distinctly refined.

  • It’s shaded 35% longer to boost L-theanine and chlorophyll, supporting calm focus and gentle detox pathways.

  • It’s also naturally rich in antioxidants, with high levels of catechins that support cellular health, immune function, and metabolic balance.

Sun Goddess Matcha is the next step in Pique’s mission to create simple rituals that support how you want to feel — without compromise.

Lemon Pound Cake Takes The Stand

Afroman just won a defamation case in a viral trial tied to his music video “Lemon Pound Cake,” which lampoons the officers who raided his Ohio home.

The Big Case: After the raid failed to turn up any evidence of wrongdoing, Afroman did what artists do best — he took creative license and turned his own security footage into a music video. But not just any music video — one that featured an officer looking longingly over a lemon pound cake in his kitchen. The officers didn’t find it funny, though. They sued for defamation.

Behind the Music: The trial went viral, with clips popping up all over social media — and in the end, it was the lemon pound cake that helped win the case.

  • During the raid, cops kicked down Afroman’s door and went through his personal belongings on suspicion of drug trafficking and kidnapping.

  • According to NPR, the officers damaged Afroman’s gate and security wiring, so to pay for those damages, he made a music video, released an album, and sold merch — all in parody of the incident.

  • The trial went viral for some of the more absurd moments: Afroman wearing an American flag suit, officers testifying about being sent hundreds of lemon pound cakes, and even lawyers quoting Lil Wayne and Cardi B.

Closing Statements: Afroman not only won the lawsuit, but the trial may have made him more popular than ever. The music video for “Lemon Pound Cake” now has over 7 million views on YouTube.

The Next Album: Afroman’s case could lead to a new wave of artists using their worst moments as creative marketing, making the best of a bad situation… Perhaps next year, we’ll even see a music video of Justin Timberlake’s arrest.

32.5% of you voted Not at all interested in yesterday’s poll: How interested are you in the idea of a lunar colony?

“NAAI from one who celebrated the benefits of the Apollo program in university research papers. Why the change of heart? Those were about gaining knowledge — exploring our abilities and limits in interacting with the universe. This lunar project is about greed and mining that will destroy the moon, as it does similar places on Earth.”

“The moon will most likely never be ‘inhabitable’ in the way people imagine in science fiction. It will more likely be a refueling and comms hub for ongoing space missions — barebones utility. It’s far too dark, cold, and barren for anyone to actually want to live there.”

“Let’s sort ourselves and our beautiful Earth out first, or we’ll just take the same problems there.”

“With the way we treat the earth, the moon should be left alone.”
