Happy Wednesday, Future Party. If you’re in LA, you’ve probably noticed that Netflix Is a Joke — the streamer’s week-long comedy festival — is officially underway. With so much happening across the city, Netflix put together a guide breaking down who’s performing where. Fair warning, though: if you can’t snag tickets, prepare for some serious FOMO watching Kevin Hart, Seth Rogen, David Letterman, and countless others take over LA all in the same week.

AMC Is Turning Concerts Into Cinema
AMC Theatres and Arena One have announced a new partnership that will bring live concerts to movie theaters across America.
The Big Picture: The live-music industry is booming, making major artists more in demand than ever. The only problem is… well… supply-and-demand economics, which is making tickets to see popular acts prohibitively expensive. AMC sees an opportunity to cater to fans who want a great concert experience but may not have the resources to attend live and in person.
Behind The Curtain: AMC is positioning itself as the next can’t-miss tour stop with its new Arena One at AMC program.
AMC will simulcast one-night-only concerts in more than 300 theaters nationwide, all livestreamed from Arena One’s specially designed stage in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
Depending on the artist, tickets will range from $40 to $75 (before taxes and fees) — conveniently landing somewhere between the average movie ticket and the average concert ticket.
AMC says it plans to recreate the live-concert atmosphere using “innovative interactive technology” designed to capture the “crowd buzz, sound, and reactions flowing back and forth between the fans and performers in real time.”
The AMC-exclusive program will debut in June with performances from Bebe Rexha, Paris Hilton, Kim Petras, and Maren Morris, with more artists expected to be announced soon.
Encore: AMC has been bullish on music-focused experiences as a way to help fill post-pandemic attendance gaps, especially following the success of Taylor Swift’s concert films, The Eras Tour and The Life of a Showgirl. And after the record-breaking success of Michael — which many audiences attended in part to feel like they were at a Michael Jackson concert — it’s no surprise that AMC is doubling down.
Coming Soon: The biggest risk with the program is that AMC has never livestreamed a concert before — and no one wants to watch the big screen buffer. But if AMC can deliver a smooth experience, the initiative could become a major revenue driver for the theater chain.

Do You Want To Watch The World Cup… Professionally?
Fox Sports is partnering with Indeed to fill this unbelievable-but-real role: a Chief World Cup Watcher.
Why It Hits: The job-as-marketing strategy may have reached a new zenith with Fox Sports’ latest opening. It essentially turns an experience into a lottery ticket — one designed to generate instant virality and keep people talking. In today’s digital world, that may be one of the only ways to break through the noise… especially during a brand-saturated World Cup.
Behind The Role: Do you have what it takes to watch the entire World Cup?
Fox Sports is looking for someone willing to watch all 104 World Cup matches… while sitting inside a transparent cube in the middle of Times Square. No pressure.
The gig pays $50,000 for one month of sitting and watching soccer all day — but the chosen applicant will also be expected to create and share social content throughout the entire tournament.
Final Match: To apply, candidates will need to sign up for Indeed, make their profile visible to employers, list journalism and content creation as skills, post the hashtag #ChiefWorldCupWatcher, and share a video explaining why they’re the right fit for the role. The selected candidate will be revealed live during Fox’s broadcast of the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game on June 6 — one week before the World Cup kicks off.
Interestingly, Fox appears to be looking for someone who’s a general sports fan rather than a diehard soccer fanatic — presumably to ensure the content comes from the POV of someone enthusiastic about the tournament while still remaining accessible to casual viewers. It’s a smart play.
Next Role: Could selfies with the chosen candidate become the most viral thing in NYC this summer? We’d wager on it.
