Happy Wednesday, Future Party. How’s this for a great Olympics story: US bobsledder Elana Meyers Taylor took home the gold medal in the monobob event after 16 years of trying. Taylor has competed in four Winter Olympics, earning three silvers and two bronzes — but missing the top prize by fractions of a second. This time, it was she who won by fractions of a second — 0.04 seconds, to be exact.
What makes the victory even sweeter is that at 41, she became the oldest individual champion in Winter Games history. So, now she’s an Olympic gold medalist and a record breaker.

Apple Wants To Outfit You In AI
Apple is working on three AI-powered wearable devices — smart glasses, a pendant, and improved AirPods — that could debut as early as next year.
The Big Picture: Apple has been lagging behind its competitors in AI, and the company is now in hyperspeed mode to catch up. Recently, it announced a new version of Siri — powered by Google Gemini — that will be part of iOS 27 later this year. By also making a play in the wearables space, the company is ensuring that no rival tech firm gets the upper hand to become… well… the new Apple.
Behind The Code: What Apple AI device would you add to your fit?
Smart glasses: Apple is positioning these as its most high-tech offering. The frames are made in-house — available in several styles, sizes, and colors — and will feature two cameras: one for premium photography and another for computer vision, allowing the AI to analyze a person’s environment.
Pendant: Similar to Humane’s failed Pin, the pendant can be clipped to clothing or worn around the neck. More of an iPhone accessory, it will feature an always-on camera and microphone for speaking with Siri.
AirPods: The updated AirPods will include a small camera so the system can visualize the environment and deliver suggestions via Siri right in your ear. Most of the computing for both the AirPods and the Pendant would be handled by a user’s iPhone.
Last Looks: Apple has a lot of catching up to do when it comes to AI wearables. Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses are a hit, Snap is spinning out a company dedicated to its Spectacles, and OpenAI is working with famed iPhone designer Jony Ive on a secretive device that’s meant to replace the best-selling smartphone.
If there’s one thing that Apple arguably does better than anyone else, it’s delivering quality products with a built-in fanbase. So, if the company gets this right, it could still come out on top.
The Future: While AI is what Apple is selling these products on, adding cutting-edge AR tech to the smart glasses — which the company plans to do in the future — could be the real game-changer.

We All Need A Sleepcation
The new trend in travel is “sleepcations” — trips taken for the express purpose of getting a lot of high-quality sleep.
Why It Hits: Sleep is so hot right now. Between a sleep-tech industry expected to nearly triple to $44 billion by 2032 and the virality of sleep influencers like Jakey Boehm and Eliza Diaz, people are becoming more interested in how to get a better night’s rest. By mixing sleep with tourism and hospitality, hotels could find a comfortable new source of revenue.
Between The Naps: The top sightseeing destination on your next trip may be the inside of your eyelids.
Millennials and Gen Z travelers are choosing sleepcations as a way to intentionally catch up on shut-eye — especially those with irregular sleep patterns, poor work-life balance, or chronic sleep deprivation that calls for serious rest.
Hotels are all about it, gaining quiet guests who order room service, splurge on in-house amenities, and rarely bother the concierge.
So, hotels are offering curated sleep packages that include luxury linens, a selection of pillows and blankets, accessories like eye masks, skin-care products, and extras such as tea and CBD gummies.
Final Yawn: While getting a lot of uninterrupted sleep sounds amazing, The WSJ notes that sleep experts aren’t exactly in love with the idea. They agree that getting more sleep is beneficial, but saving that much-needed rest for one weekend every now and then won’t help much — accumulated sleep debt can’t be repaid in just a couple of nights. Instead, making a habit of getting a good night’s sleep is one of the best things you can do for your long-term health.
Still, lying on a cozy mattress and doing absolutely nothing sounds pretty great.
Next Snooze: Maybe the era of rise and grind is becoming the age of rest and recharge, giving productive people the natural energy to hustle when the sun’s up. What a concept.
